Siemens partners with Shanghai Yangpu to jointly promote the development of intelligent manufacturing talents

On June 30th, Siemens officially launched a series of science and technology innovation forum activities with the theme of "Infinite Opportunities for Data Empowerment", which will continue to empower the cultivation of intelligent manufacturing talents in China through product and solution exhibitions, open online teaching and lectures, cutting-edge technology training, and other aspects. As the beginning of the Science and Technology Innovation Forum series of activities, Siemens and the Yangpu District Commerce Commission of Shanghai jointly organized university students to enter the Siemens Shanghai Yangpu Process Industry Digital Experience Center, to experience up close the real-life experience of the "digital twin" bringing integrated engineering to integrated operation and maintenance for the process industry. This event attracted nearly a hundred students to register and participate.

As one of Siemens' many measures to promote the cultivation of intelligent manufacturing talents in China, the Science and Technology Innovation Forum series of activities aims to cultivate interdisciplinary and composite professionals in the digital age. Dr. Yao Jun, General Manager of the Process Automation Division of Siemens (China) Digital Industry Group, said, "Yangpu insists on driving technological innovation and continuously promoting the digital transformation of the industry, which coincides with Siemens' philosophy. Both sides will continue to deepen the construction of Siemens Digital Experience Center, effectively promote the development of intelligent and digital industries in Yangpu District, and provide development momentum and strong support for local industrial upgrading and transformation

The Siemens Shanghai Yangpu Process Industry Digital Experience Center, located in Yangpu District, Shanghai, was jointly established by Siemens and Yangpu District in 2017. The center comprehensively presents Siemens' overall solutions for automation, digitization, and intelligence targeting pain points in the process industry, and truly demonstrates how to fully empower enterprise digital transformation through the deep integration of IT and OT. It also demonstrates how to create value through data, effectively reduce waste and improve productivity, and how to better achieve full lifecycle management of factory assets through digital twins.

Since its establishment, the Digital Experience Center has fully leveraged its role as an intelligent manufacturing training demonstration base and intelligent manufacturing research and development base that integrates industry, academia, and research. It has gathered regional strength and provided a platform and soil for Yangpu to build an innovative intelligent manufacturing ecosystem.
